I am a licensed paraglider pilot and I also earned a second degree black belt in Shotokan karate; I taught martial arts for approximately 4 years. David Scott has worked at various law firms in New Mexico and California. Even before graduating he started gaining legal experience as a courier for the law firms of Comeau, Maldegen, Templeman & Indall, LLC, and McClaugherty & Silver, LLC, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. After earning his paralegal certificate, he began working part-time for County Commissioner Paul Campos on personal injury and workers’ compensation matters, and, on a contract basis, he gained experience working in criminal defense for Attorney, Tom Clark, as well as other attorneys--mostly in the area of personal injury. Just before the mortgage industry meltdown, David Scott analyzed hundreds of cases related to possible mortgage fraud at the American Mortgage Law Group, in Novato, California, under the supervision of Attorney, Evans Prieston, J.D.

David Scott has strong computer skills and an uncanny ability to master any software programs quickly and thoroughly. He has advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Windows Movie Maker, and Outlook. He is able to use both Macintosh and Windows operating systems, and has experience with WordPerfect, E-Filing, Time Slips, Phone Slips, Tabs, OneNote, LiveNote, and Access. He taught himself how to understand and utilize HTML and CSS coding for internet publishing, and has become an accomplished webmaster and videographer.

David Scott earned an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies at the Santa Fe Community College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He spends a good deal of his free time educating his self in a wide variety of subjects. He completed an internship with Douglas Brenner, J.D.
